Sheila Tilert
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Sheila is a Film and English double major from the University of Maryland, College Park, and joined GATE in February 2023. She shoots, edits, teaches, maintains the channel and administration, and helps with member productions at GATE. Sheila is enthusiastic to be working in Greenbelt and is excited to learn more about the community!
George Kochell
ANIMATION FACILITATOR
Mister Geo is a teaching artist who has offered animation, comic book and cartooning classes for more than 20 years. He champions alternative methods to reach students with diverse backgrounds and special needs.
His students' work has been featured on Maryland Public Television.

Laila Turner
ANIMATION INTERN
Laila joined the GATE team in March 2023, assisting with digital animation and claymation classes. Laila is an experienced animator, who is currently working on an original animated series!
